I was at Carmichael Outreach on Friday to ask questions about their work. I got a tour of the office and the space where they do their outreach work. I learned that they welcome donations of lots of items (household items incl. garbage bags of all sizes (tough blend), soap, toothpaste/brush, towels, cookware and dishes, bedding, books, and more) - basically all the items people would require as they live.
These days Carmichael Outreach is feeding people not only indoors, but also by handing out containers of food that people leave with. The containers that work best are the 750 ml containers that originally had honey or yoghurt or sour cream, etc. 500 ml containers are useful to them too.
So, to make a long story shorter, if you happen to have any 500 or 750ml plastic containers, with lids, around that you don't need to keep, could you donate them to Carmichael Outreach? They are open Monday to Friday, 8:30am to late in the afternoon (5 or 6). They're closed on the weekend.
This is an urgent need. If you have time today, could you please look through and see what you have, and then deliver whatever you have to give to Carmichael Outreach at 1925 Osler Street on your way to work or during the day tomorrow? Their phone number is 757-2235.
Thank you.
Marie
